A bike with an electric hub motor, using a controller throttle enabling movement without using the pedals. An e-bike can be used by pedaling only, electric only, or a combination of both.
HOW FAST WILL THEY GO?
To maintain their eligibility as a bicycle, electric bikes are restricted to speeds of 32 kmph or less.
HOW FAR WILL THEY GO?
Since some models come standard with 2 batteries, distances of 80-100 km can be achieved.
WHAT KIND OF BATTERIES ARE USED?
Sealed lead acid batteries (maintainable).
DO YOU NEED A LICENCE/INSURANCE?
Licence and insurance are not required to operate an electric bicycle, but you have to be 16 years old.
